ExypnoTech of Sauerlach near Munich, Germany, was founded in February 2002. End of 2003 TagStar Systems GmbH acquired 51% equity interest in ExypnoTech from NanoPierce Technologies, Inc., Denver, Colorado, USA.

TagStar (www.tagstar-systems.de) develops, produces and markets RFID components such as smart inlays (transponders).The company's product portfolio is supplemented by read/write devices from selected partner firms. TagStar aims to be an all-service, single-source supplier for customers requiring RFID services and solutions.

ExypnoTech is the first company worldwide to produce RFID components using WaferPierce™ technology. The technical and economic advantages of WaferPierce™, coupled with the management team's expertise in RFID technology, gave impetus to the decision to tackle the challenges of the fast-growing yet cost-sensitive RFID market.
